Content Delivery Network (CDN)

You might’ve heard of this term before but might not understand the significance.

What is it?

A CDN is a “geographically distributed group of servers which work together to provide fast delivery of Internet content”

In other words, CDN allows your website to be access much faster around the world.

Why is it significant?

The servers work together by storing your website, allowing it to be viewed quicker by users whether they live in North America, South America, Europe and even the Asias.

This feature has become an important standard in ensuring your website is fast.

How do CDN’s work?

A user who is interested in accessing your website receives the website from the nearest server to respond to the request. Thus allowing websites to be stored and viewed faster.

Is having a CDN mandatory?

CDN is not mandatory, although it is recommended for every website to have a CDN. A slow website means lost revenue.
